Xiao Se

was born in 1970 in Beijing. In 1990 he graduated from the Beijing Arts and Design School with a degree in Environmental Art. In 1990 he worked as an art designer in Beijing Music Hall. In 1994 he studied at the Design Department of the Central Academy of Arts and Design. Xiao Se is regarded as one of the emerging Chinese oil painters by the famous art magazine “ Fine Arts Research” in 2000.

 

Young artist Xiao Se was deep influenced by the modern western expressionism then he took the essence of it. He changed it into his own artistic language and concept. His works are often humorous, ironic and eerie. From 1999 he has held his solo paintings exhibition in Berlin, Bonn of Germany and Beijing.
