姚奎
1936年生，山西省垣曲县人。现为中国美术家协会会员。1962年毕业于中央美术学院装饰绘画系壁画专业，1964年为桂林市展览馆设计制作中国第一幅大型陶瓷镶嵌壁画《桂林山水歌》。近年来作品先后在日本、香港、台湾、美国、英国、丹麦、澳门等地展览并出版，代表作被中国美术馆中国美术家协会等收藏。
姚主张绘画以表现独特之境界和绘画之形式美为主要目的，不固守成法和表现手段，并从古今中外一切优秀艺术遗产中汲取营养。其作品风格独树一帜，厚重﹑饱满﹑稚拙﹑重装饰情趣﹑富有诗意。
Yao Kui
was born in Yuanqu County, Shanxi Province in 1936. He is a member of the Chinese Artists’ Association. He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a degree in decorative painting. He is skilled at displaying the beauty of the mountains and rivers of China with romantic touches. His paintings are characterized as having a sense of uncultivated simplicity and a lyrical freshness of life.
