Liu Dawei   
Male, born in 1945, is a native of Zhucheng, Shandong province. He is executive vice-president of the Chinese Artists Association and is involving in its daily management.
 
Graduated from the Art Department of the Inner Mongolia Normal University in 1968, Liu became a Chinese painting research student at the Central Art Institute in 1980 and later became a student of masters such as Ye Qianyu, Jiang Zhaohe, Li Keran, Wu Zuoren and Wang Zhou. Liu has a strong mastery of basic craftsmanship. With constant pursuance for originality, he is competent in both meticulous and freehand brushwork genres. After years of creative practice, Liu has formed his own distinct artistic style. Liu is meticulous in producing his art works. They are full of vitality of daily life and are acclaimed for the reflection of the real lives of the northern minority peoples and other major historical issues.
 
In the past few decades, a number of Liu¡¯s paintings have been shown in China, the U.S.A., Japan, France, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Having been awarded more than 30 times, Liu is the artist who gained the largest number of prizes. He is also one of the most accomplished and influential artists in China. His works have been used as official gifts to foreign government leaders by President Jiang Zemin. Liu also led official delegation to visit the U.S.A., Japan and Spain.
 
Major works of Liu dawei include ¡°In the Desert¡±, ¡°People on Horseback¡±, ¡°Under the Sun¡±, ¡°Night Breeze¡±, ¡°Pamir Wedding¡± and ¡°Song of the Grassland¡±, etc.
