Li Yongwen
Male, born in 1955, is a native of Tianjin. He was awarded a master degree in Literature. He is a member of Chinese Artists Association, Oriental Arts Exchange Society, Chinese Fine Brushwork Association, Tianjin Painting Association and a professor at Tianjin Academy of Fine Art.
Li specializes in Chinese fine brushwork, especially in figures and landscapes of the Northwest regions of China. His painting style is natural, realistic, exquisite and in great details, At the same time they are bold, powerful, and excellent in both appearance and spirit. His paintings possess a unique beauty by combining the techniques of Chinese and
Western art, while emphasizing the traditional Chinese culture.
His works were selected in provincial and national art exhibitions and won many prizes. Many of them have been published in several influential art journals in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The major paintings of Li include ¡°Sunshine¡±, which won the Bronze Medal in the 6th National Art Exhibition and is collected by the China Art Gallery. ¡°Summertime¡± won the Golden Prize in the Chinese Fine Brushwork Exhibition. ¡°Holy Place¡± won the Excellent Work Prize in the Wash Painting Exhibition in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. ¡°Eager for Peace¡± won the Encouragement Prize in the International Peace Year Art Exhibition. ¡°Fishing Village¡± won the Excellent Work Prize in the Art Festival Exhibition of China, Japan and Korea. ¡°Late Autumn¡± won the Excellent Work Prize at the 8th National Art Exhibition and the First Prize in the Tianjin Art Exhibition for Young Artists. ¡°Burning Opium in Humen¡±, which was commissioned by the China Ministry of Culture in 1997, and was selected to the Grand Exhibition of Chinese Art. He also won the famous Tianjin Luxun Art Award for twice.
Li held solo painting exhibitions for many times in Hong Kong and Taiwan. A comprehensive painting album as well as his writings has been published.
