Male, born in 1949, is a native of Shunde, Guangdong province. He is a member of the Chinese Artists Association, director of the Guangdong Art Association and vice-chairman of the Foshan Art Association. He is also a special invited artist by the Guangdong Painting Academy and a full-time painter in the Foshan Painting Academy.

 

He has been fond of art since he was a child. When he was a teenager, his family was poor and he led a rough life. To earn a living, he worked as a porter, temporary worker, clerk and so on. Despite such adverse circumstances, he was making ceaseless efforts to improve himself and never stopped studying, practicing and exploring the art of painting. He studied especially untiringly in the art of Chinese paintings and its themes, producing new and important discoveries about them. Little by little, a pure, fresh and graceful style took shape in his paintings, which contain a deep local flavor of life and take on a personal artistic look suiting both refined and popular tastes. His attitude of meticulous scholarship, his spirit of diligently improving himself and his achievement have all been highly praised and encouraged by artists of the same and older generation.
