Kong Lapfung
Male, born in Bao¡¯an County in Guangdong Province in 1948. He is a professional artist and member of Guangdong Artists Association. He had been the lecturer of Fine Art of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Postgraduate Association. He is being praised as one of the artists with most potentiality in Hong Kong.
Kong has been fond of painting since he was young, and had been guided by Professor Yuan Hao, Yang Zhiguang and Liu Jirong of Guangzhou Fine Art Academy. After migrated to Hong Kong in 1978, He started to copy and study ancient Chinese paintings which consolidated his foundation of various drawings skills. Kong takes in the fine essence of historical painting masters and displays a tactile sense of touch in his paintings. On top of the traditions, he unceasingly pursues new breakthroughs and developed his unique painting style. Noticeably in his fine paintings of ladies, human figures, landscapes, flowers and birds, the brushstrokes are meticulous, precise, neat and fluent. His lines are tender yet dainty and sturdy, blended in classically elegant colors. Altogether they convey a modern vigor in his works.
Kong¡¯s paintings have been exhibited in Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, U.S., Canada and other cities in China. They are highly valued by all circles of the society and are widely collected by local and overseas art-lovers.
