Chen was born in 1970 in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. After graduating from the middle school, he entered the FujianAcademy of Fine Arts to study Chinese art systematically and developed a strong interest in traditional Chinese painting. After graduation he formally acknowledged Mr. Yang Xialin who is the famous landscape-painting master of Xiamen city as his teacher. Later Chen learned painting technique from Mr. Wang Wenfang of the Beijing Art Academy, and professor Yao Zhihua of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Chen made a great progress since he studied with those masters.
From 1992 to 1999 Chen made several trips to famous Chinese mountains and scenic spots and drew a lot of inspiration from those trips. Being fascinated by the beauty of nature, he has established his own style and techniques in a series of his powerful works.

1997 “Long Dragon” was displayed at the International Exhibition of Chinese paintings and calligraphy held by the Ministry of Culture of China and the Chinese Artists Association

2001 Solo exhibition invited by the Tourism Bureau of Singapore
2002 His work “ Melody of Hometown ” was shown at the National Exhibition of Chinese Paintings organized by the Chinese Artists Association.
2004 Tour Exhibition in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dalian, Qingdao, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Shenzhen
