Zhong Rurong
was born in 1957 in Shiwan, Guangdong province. Currently he is a member of the Chinese Artists¡¯ Association, Foshan Sub-Branch. Member of Foshan City Technical Arts Society, president of Shiwan Painting and Calligraphy Association, ceramic artist and painter.
As he was born and grown up in Shiwan, he naturally became a ceramic artist. His traditional Chinese painting ¡°Grapes and Birds¡± won the first class prize in the First Foshan Hundred Flowers Arts Competition in 1981. In the same year, he was admitted to the Sculpture Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts where he received formal and systematic training. His works enlighten new concepts and traditional flavors. Moreover, he also paints lively Chinese figures in a unique personal style. In 1991, a painting and pottery exhibition by Zhong Rurong was held in Hong Kong.
