Guo Xiaomin
Male, born in Luoyang city, central China Henan province in 1934. He is a member of the Chinese Artists Association, Luoyang branch, a standing committee of Henan Flower-and-Bird Research Association, vice president of Luoyang Flower-and-Bird Research Association, and the Chief of Luoyang Peony Painting Studio. Guo is an accomplished flower painter. After graduation from the Chinese Painting Department of Xi¡¯an Academy of Fine Arts, he began to work for Xi¡¯an Arts Design Studio. In the 1970s he returned to Luoyang and concentrated on experimenting the painting techniques of peony. Having hardship and intensive researches for several decades. He has successfully developed his distinctive style of freehand peony. From the rich expression of flowers to the vigorous brushstrokes of leaves, he is able to capture the charming beauty and gracefulness of peony. |
