Mi Chunmao
male, born in 1938, is a native of Baxian, Hebei province. He is now a member of the Chinese Artists Association, council member of its Hebei Branch, and master of Arts and Crafts in Hebei. In addition, he is rated as a national first-class artist and received special allowance from the State Council for his outstanding expertise.
Mi developed a strong interest in painting and sculpture when he was a child. In his early years, he learnt the Chinese painting techniques from masters such as Sun Qifeng, Zhang Qiyi, and sculpture techniques from Zhang Ming and Wang Zhijiang.
He has been held in high esteem in China for realism and gracefulness in meticulous style painting. His favorite topics are small creatures such as kittens and puppies, which are vivid and lifelike.
His works have been published both at home and abroad and have been awarded many times in exhibitions. His publications include ¡°How to Portray Small Creatures¡±, ¡°Paintings by Mi Chunmao¡± and ¡°The Emotion-New Works of Mi Chunmao¡±. |
