周树坚，广东书法名家，被称「岭南书坛奇才」。1947年出生，广东茂名人。中国书法家协会对外交流委员会委员，广东省书法家协会副主席兼篆刻委员会主
任，广东省青年书法家协会主席，广州市人民政府参事，原广州市海珠区人民政府副区长。职称副编审。
弱冠之年矢志祖国传统书法、绘画、篆刻艺术，师从著名书法篆刻艺术家秦咢生先生、容庚先生、商承祚先生、李曲斋先生等，潜心书法篆刻艺术和古文字研
究。书法攻甲骨文及钟鼎彝器款识、秦篆汉隶，亦博览历朝名家墨迹；篆刻以周、秦、两汉玺印为宗；绘画以金鱼独树一帜。作品风格大气磅礴、隽利厚重、
古拙苍劲、浑穆流利、端庄潇洒、自存新意。
1980年周树坚首创成立全国第一个"广州市青年书法协会「青年书艺团体」。书法篆刻作品获广东省鲁迅文艺奖、1985年荣获广东省新闻出版局颁发的广东
「优秀编辑」称号。作品曾参加国际、全国各大展。书法篆刻作品为人民大会堂珍藏，日本、法国、意大利、瑞士、韩国等国政要和国内外知名人士好评及收
藏。
展览将展出周树坚之各样书法及篆刻精品六十多帧，作品内容丰富，表现手法新颖动人，观众可了解中国文字和书法发展史，又可从古人咏句、时彦颂词中领
略中国文化精神的底蕴。
Zhou Shu Jian is a master in calligraphy of the Lingnan school. He was born in 1947 in Guangdong, now oficial at Guangzhou government and calligraphy organizations.
Zhou aspired to glorify the art of Chinese calligraphy, painting and seal cutting before he came to the age of twenty. Having guided by his famous teachers Qin E-sheng, Rong Geng, Shang
Cheng-zuo, Li Qu-zhai, he excels in a wide range of chirography from Zhou, Shang, Qin to Han and other dynasties while his goldish paintings are of distinctive style. His strokes are
vigorous, luent, natural and unrestrained, giving a solemn and ancient lavor with the addition of unique and creative innovation.
In 1980, he established the irst national calligraphy group for the young people in Guangzhou. He has also received numerous awards and participated in various national and international
exhibitions. His works are collected by the People’s Hall as well as leaders and celebrities in Japan, France, Italy, Switzerland and Korea.
The exhibition will showcase sixty works of Zhou’s different types of calligraphy. The copious content and mode of expression will let you understand more about the historical development
of Chinese calligraphy and culture.
