Wan Fung Art Gallery proudly presents to you the “Our Glorious Moments - Painting Exhibition of Chan Kau On” from 20 - 31 July in Hong Kong Wan Fung Art Gallery. Chan Kau On, whenever the art lovers in Hong Kong hear this name, it reminds us his awesome paintings which telling stories about the past and present of Hong Kong. Apart from enjoying the fascinating views in Hong Kong, we would also like to carry out some paintings which show you the nostalgic and modern moments in Shanghai, the bustling city of China. We believe that his paintings will resonate with you even you know nothing about art. From a small fishing village, Hong Kong has developed into one of the world''''s leading international financial centres which require much time and sustained efforts by Hong Kong People. Whenever we enjoy the exciting night views of Hong Kong Victoria Harbor, only Hong Kong people can understand how much hard work that we paid for the success behind this beautiful scene. Besides Hong Kong, Shanghai''''s former glory is once again reappearing now after experiencing the vicissitudes during the past half a century. Good memories worth recording. Chan is good at choosing different colors and lines in his drawings in order to record the bits and pieces of Hong Kong and Shanghai. His drawings are colorful, dazzling and visually imaginative, which make us a more profound impression on these two places. Chan''''s paintings create the unique appeal among its audiences. Let us step into a time tunnel and recall our glorious moments in these two cities. Biography of Chan Kau On: Chan Kau On was born in 1946 in Dongguan, Guangdong province. He graduated from the Hong Kong fine art academy in 1962. In 1966, his debut solo exhibition was held in the Big Hall of Hong Kong. His masterpieces have been included sequentially in the “China Modern Painting and Calligraphy Thesaurus” published in 1989, the “Famous Artists of Modern Painting and Calligraphy Thesaurus” in 1991, and the “World Chinese Art Almanac” in 1996.He is now director of the Hong Kong Artist Association, Chairman of the Fine Arts committee. Publications as the “Collection of Prompt Sketching by Chan Kau On”, the “Hong Kong under the Brush of Chan Kau On”, and the “Vista series by Chan Kau On” are all his crystallizations of hardworking.
