Resume | |||
Leung Yun Charm, born in Hong Kong in 1958. Painting has been his keen interest since he was young. Through perseverance, he was selected as a finalist in the Contemporary Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition, Western medium section, in 1979, and subsequently the Young Art in Asia Now Competition held in the Hong Kong Arts Center in 1980. After working in photojournalism for 18 years, he devoted himself to fine art painting, focusing on watercolors. His works of Hong Kong’s old streets and shops would surely recall slivers of memory and evoke a sense of nostalgia in Hong Kong people.
Beijing is one of his favorite cities in the world. His first visit to Beijing dates back to 1984, since then, he kept coming back to Beijing from time to time because of its profound cultural heritage and history. From sightseeing to wandering through labyrinth-like hutongs, he determined to use his paint brush to capture some beautiful but vanishing hutongs, as well as the everyday lives of Beijing people.
