Wan Fung Art Gallery proudly presents to you the “Gunter Grossholz & Wan Yuxi Oil Painting Exhibition” starting from 7 to 16 May. The opening ceremony will start at 5pm, 7 May. Gunter and Yuxi will also be present in the opening ceremony. We cordially invite you to join us and have fun in the garden of dream created by Gunter and Yuxi.
Do you already find your destined another half from the crowd? Gunter and Yuxi is one of the lucky couple, who could find each other even live apart, share their love of art even with so different in their cultural background; they are still being together, co-creating their artistic world and have won lots of awards.
Gunter was born in Germany, who brought up in love with the masterpieces of European classic masters. Yuxi, who grew up in Beijing and started learning traditional Chinese painting since her early age. It is rare that they do not cling to their own artistic path, but co-creating the artworks instead. Their works combined the Chinese and Western beauty, classic and modern, abstractionism and realism, which bring you to their artistic journey.

Biography of Gunter and Yuxi:
Gunter Grossholz was born in Boeblingen, Germany in 1971.
From an early age he was a passionate painter and drawer, inspired by life filtered through imagination and reflection.
He learned to play three instruments, was fascinated by sculpturing and writing. He left these for one passion.
Through lot of experimental work as well as through the study of traditional techniques of oil painting, learning and insurgency, search and enthusiasm he found his personal way of expression and style.
He studied at Weissenhof Akademie, Baden-Wuerttemberg, and after master degrees at Merz Akademie Stuttgart and Film Akademie Baden-Wuerttemberg he started working as arts professor and held several workshops helping students to set their hidden talents free.
Because of his overcoming talents in drawing he gained some international prizes.
Exhibitions at Stuttgart and Berlin showed his work.
Yuxi Wan was born from an artist family in Beijing in 1971.
From early childhood on she was educated in arts, drawing and painting as well as in the traditions and history of Chinese art.
After studying at Beijing Film Academy and working as a film director for some years, she went to Germany.
At the Film Academy Baden Wuerttemberg she studied four years and explored at the same time her roots in painting. She added her experience of film art and developed her own reflective style of creation.
At Germany she took part in art exhibitions at Karlsruhe, Stuttgart and Berlin. The colours and light of her eastern origin, which she uses in a sensitive way, are of European taste.
In 2003 Yuxi Wan and Gunter Grossholz started working together as Wandamuto.
They dig in the history, culture and tradition of both, exploring the commons and the differences. Opinions of east-west culture melting and consume beauty they share and discuss.
Their paintings are superficially smooth and not acing but their content is positive culture criticism as it fits a sophisticated, international living room.
