Emerald Hunan-Oil Painting Exhibition of Hunan Artists

“Emerald Hunan - Oil Painting Exhibition of Hunan Artists” is jointly presented by the Information Office of Hunan Provincial People’s Government and the Federation of Literary and Art Circles of Hunan Province as well as Wan Fung Art Gallery with the support of the Publicity, Culture and Sports Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People''s Government in the HKSAR. The Exhibition will open at 5:30pm on 20 September 2010 in Wan Fung Art Gallery which will showcase 9 Hunan artists more than 60 pieces of oil painting with the theme of Hunan’s landscape and countryside.
The landscape of Hunan has been the source of inspiration for poets and artists from long time ago and its beauty are glorified by many poems and masterpieces of art. Therefore, Hunan is also praised as “the country of cotton rose” because of his natural beauty. Nowadays, Hunan is the center of cultural development and tourist attraction, and is impressive because of its abundant cultural relics, historic sites and scenic mountains and lakes. In this exhibition, all the artworks are painted from the heart of artists, most of them are not only with the theme of countryside, but also filled with the characteristics and style of villagers’ custom. How many of us in Hong Kong have seen the farms and villages? The fine works of Hunan artists could bring you to experience this peaceful and tranquil rural landscape of Hunan.
From the Hunan oil paintings, it is not difficult to discover that Hunan oil paintings’ artists are simple, unsophisticated and always striving for their own improvement. They adhere to the idea that art come from life, especially during their artistic creation. Their artworks are back to nature and basic, showing how they adore the surroundings and life. One fine work that can touch the heart of the audience, not only has the high degree of difficulty, but the love and aroma that the artist put in are also play an important part. The more the artists familiar with their theme of painting, the more their sensation will put in, and the audience finally will be touched by their artworks. All of the exhibits feature the admirable landscape of Hunan and could led us enjoy the gift from the Mother Nature.
